What is a AC & DC FAN?
2024-08-09
  • Cooling fan or Electric Cooling Fan : is a fan that converts electric energy into machinery through DC voltage and electromagnetic induction, so as to drive the wind blades to rotate. In short, the induction magnetic ring drives the wind blade to rotate by continuously switching the coil and IC.

  • AC/DC cooling fans classification
    Axial fan
The blades of the axial fan push the air to flow in the same direction as the shaft. The impeller of axial flow fan is somewhat similar to the propeller. When it works, most of the flow direction of air flow is parallel to the shaft, in other words, along the axis. When the inlet air flow of axial fan is free air with 0 static pressure, its power consumption is the lowest. When running, the power consumption will increase with the rise of air flow back pressure. Axial fans are usually installed on the cabinet of electrical equipment, and sometimes integrated on the motor. Because of their compact structure, axial fans can save a lot of space and easy installation, they are widely used.
Its characteristics: high flow rate, medium wind pressure

    Centrifugal fan
When the centrifugal fan works, the blade pushes the air to flow in a direction perpendicular to the axis (i.e. radial). The inlet is along the axis, while the outlet is perpendicular to the axis. In most cases, the cooling effect can be achieved by using an axial fan. However, sometimes, if the air flow needs to be rotated 90 degrees or a large wind pressure is required, a centrifugal fan must be selected. Strictly speaking, fans also belong to centrifugal fans.
Its features: limited flow rate, high wind pressure

    Mixed flow fan

The mixed flow fan is also called diagonal flow fan. At first glance, the mixed flow fan is no different from the axial flow fan. In fact, the air inlet of the mixed flow fan is along the axis, but the air outlet is along the diagonal direction of the axis and vertical axis. Due to the conical blade and housing, the wind pressure of this fan is high. Under the same size and other comparable performance, the noise of centrifugal fan is lower than that of axial fan.
Its characteristics: high flow rate and relatively high wind pressure

    Application of cooling fan
It is widely used in traditional or modern instruments and equipment such as computers, communication products, photoelectric products, consumer electronic products, automotive electronic equipment, exchangers, medical equipment, heaters, air conditioners, frequency converters, teller machines, automotive freezers, welding machines, induction furnaces, sound equipment, environmental protection equipment, refrigeration equipment, etc.

  • AC/DC Fan,The traditional temperature control fan uses the temperature probe near the fan bearing to detect the air inlet temperature of the fan, so as to adjust the speed of the fan. Although this temperature control solves some problems, it has rough accuracy, and the speed of temperature control can only be changed at high speed and low speed. PWM is the abbreviation of pulse width modulation circuit. It has been widely used in industrial control and single chip microcomputer. Intel combines it with the CPU temperature detection of the motherboard and applies it to the accurate control of the speed of the radiator fan, which has achieved good results.
